I like the picture overall, and I think it gets the point across, but as Alex said, black and white would have given it more emotion. It looks like you took a pictures and just swiped the smudge tool over her mouth and finished it. It feels like a good start, but you could have more depth to the picture.
I love your take on being radio silent. I feel that the point was clearly made, but I feel that it would be better portrayed in black and white. Also, the cropping could be adjusted to minimize negative space.
